The new owners of the former PKs Beans ‘N Cream in Manitowoc are inviting the public to come meet them and see what they have done with the place.
April and Cody House took over the business from the now-retired Paula Kohlmeier on June 15th, and renamed the iconic shop Heritage Coffee and Tea.
While there have been some trials and tribulations early on, overall, they told SeehaferNews.com everything has been going well.
“Every day, it’s just been a learning experience,” Cody explained. “I think were handling it very well.”
This is not April and Cody’s first venture into the coffee world, as there is already a Heritage Coffee in Green Bay.
However, the shop at 908 North 8th Street comes with a different community aspect.
“We’re really enjoying the community, meeting people, connecting with people,” April noted. “The employees seem to be happy, everyone seems to be doing well.”
Heritage Coffee has been open for a little while already, but the Houses will be hosting an official grand opening celebration on Saturday. 
The event will be from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and will include everything from sourdough vendors, face paint, raffle prizes, deals on their coffee, and local food vendors.
April and Cody say they take pride in the work they do, which includes roasting their own coffee beans and supporting other local businesses.
“I think one thing that I take pride in is we’re really trying to support local,” April explained. “We’re bringing in a lot of local products so we can be more of a one-stop shop for people in this area.”
The Houses are planning on having several more events this year, including a pumpkin patch and a weekend of winter wonderland.
