One man is in custody after a date night in Manitowoc allegedly turned into a violent sexual assault.
52-year-old Kelvin Jones has been given a $7,500 cash bail as he faces charges of Second-Degree Sexual Assault and Battery.
Jones is accused of bringing a woman he went on a date with back to his home after telling her, “nothing would happen.”
However, after returning home, Jones is accused of putting his face on the victim’s genitals despite her pleading for him to stop.
He is also accused of physically harming the victim in order to continue the assault.
During his bail hearing yesterday (July 21st) it was also revealed that Jones told police that the victim told him ‘no’ but continued to sexually assault her anyway.
This is not the 52-year-old’s first time being accused of sex crimes in Manitowoc County, as he was previously found guilty of Third-Degree Sexual Assault back in 2019.
Additional terms of his bail include a strict no-contact order with the victim.
Jones will now make his initial appearance in Manitowoc County court on Monday (July 27th) at 1:30 p.m.
