An area school district has issued an apology after inadvertently posting an old photo of students.
The Wrightstown Community School District explained that they selected a photo for their weekly Throwback Thursday series, but this photo reportedly showed children with their faces painted black.
Superintendent Dirk Ribbens called the choice “not acceptable” and added, “While the photo was shared with the intention of celebrating our district’s history, we recognize that its content is inappropriate and does not reflect the values of the Wrightstown Community School District. We are committed to fostering a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students, families, staff, and community members.”
The district also promised to “take appropriate steps to better reflect our district with future photos.”
