Sheboygan’s transit company is offering residents a place to shelter as air quality continues to deteriorate.
As Canadian wildfires continue to burn, the National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Sheboygan and all neighboring counties, which are experiencing “Hazardous Air Quality.”
With that in mind, Shoreline Metro has announced that they are allowing all customers onto its buses at no charge today (July 17th) and tomorrow (July 18th).
During this two-day period, there will be no changes or disruptions to the Shoreline Metro bus service, and all drivers will be required to keep windows closed and to only open the doors when necessary.
As of now, the current Air Quality Advisory is scheduled to end at noon, however, the NWS also explains that further extension could be made if conditions do not improve.
