
A man who allegedly used a machete while attacking another man in Green Bay has entered his plea.
29-year-old David Mairena-Garcia pleaded not guilty to two counts of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Aggravated Battery with Use of a Dangerous Weapon, as well as single charges of Burglary while Armed with a Dangerous Weapon, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Mairena-Garcia had reportedly used a key to enter his ex-girlfriend’s home on Edgewood Drive on April 20th, before attacking a 23-year-old man with a machete.
He also allegedly beat up his ex-girlfriend, and Flock cameras were used to track him down.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement also issued a statement after his arrest, noting that Mairena-Garcia is a Nicaraguan citizen who had entered the country illegally in 2019.
He is set to return to court on August 27th for a status conference.
