There is a new historical exhibit coming on the last running coal-powered ship on the Great Lakes.
The Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary and the SS Badger Lake Michigan Carferry are opening the exhibit on the historic ship.
The new exhibit space features panels on Manitowoc and Ludington, highlighting a new interactive timeline panel following the Badger, the SS Spartan, and the SS City of Midland 41.
The new exhibit also details the growth of maritime travel on the Great Lakes and the slow decline in the 20th century.
The exhibit will be officially opened and celebrated on a Manitowoc shoreline cruise on August 1st.
The cruise will leave at 2:00 p.m. with boarding beginning at 1:30 p.m.
More information on the cruise and exhibit can be found at ssbadger.com/shoreline-cruises.
