The Lincoln Park Zoo in Manitowoc is hosting a special walk for a new exhibit.
The two-mile Zoo Stomp takes place this Saturday (July 18th), beginning with check-in at 8:00 a.m. at the Reed Avenue Zoo entrance.
The walk begins and ends at the zoo’s main entrance.
The 2-mile walk winds through the new Coastal Wetland Aviary, the zoo itself, Lincoln Park, and beyond.
The new exhibit has been under construction for years as zoo staff cleared away fencing and more to create a natural wetland for birds.
Some funding came from a state grant. Zoo Society Coordinator Andy Janicki calls the area an immersive experience because the exhibit is “open-air, making the specimens on display all wild birds.”
Tickets for the walk will cost $10 per adult or $25 for a family of four. They can be purchased at manitowoc.networkforgood.com.
