Two local students will be recognized as the inaugural graduates of a new apprenticeship program.
Plymouth’s Orange Cross Ambulance has announced that Jonah Wieland, a Sheboygan North grad, and Lizzy Leikam, a Manitowoc Lincoln grad, are its first graduates of the Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Program through CESA 6.
Both Wieland and Leikam completed the program to earn their EMT certification and have now accepted jobs with Orange Cross.
Regarding this achievement, Orange Cross Ambulance noted, “Their success demonstrates how partnerships between local schools, CESA 6, and EMS agencies can create meaningful career pathways while helping address Wisconsin’s growing need for EMS professionals.”
Both graduates will be formally recognized at an upcoming graduation ceremony, with Orange Cross dedicating one of its newest ambulance units in their honor as the inaugural graduation class.
The graduation ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 24th at the Orange Cross Ambulance Plymouth Station.
