Charges have been filed against a Manitowoc man who attempted to enter a teen’s bedroom window.
57-year-old Michael T. Cook was given a $300 cash bail by Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch across two cases, where he is facing one count of Felony Bail Jumping linked to a theft from a local business, as well as Criminal Trespassing to a Dwelling, Disorderly Conduct, and Felony Bail Jumping.
In the second case, Cook was seen on security camera footage walking up to an 18-year-old girl’s bedroom window and is accused of attempting to gain entry.
When he could not get in through the window, it is alleged that he walked into the home through the front door and stayed inside for roughly three minutes before the presence of a family dog scared him off.
Commissioner Scharenbroch also ordered Cook to a strict no-contact order with the victim and their residence while also giving him a $500 personal recognizance bond in the first case.
He will now return to court for his initial appearance on July 20th at 1:30 p.m. in Branch 1.
