A new community resource will be making its debut in Sheboygan this weekend.
The Sheboygan County Warming Center has shared that they will be holding a ribbon-cutting for their new permanent shower trailer on Saturday (July 11th) at 11:30 a.m.
Last summer, the Warming Center, Kohler Company, and Street Angels Inc. partnered to bring a shower trailer from Milwaukee to Sheboygan for select days, allowing those experiencing homelessness in the community the opportunity to use it.
However, those same organizations realized that this was more than a temporary need, but one that community members needed year-round, with the Warming Center adding, “Because a shower is more than running water. It’s dignity. It’s confidence. It’s hope.”
The new shower trailer will be stationed at 623 Ontario Avenue, the home of the Warming Center, and be offered to those in need year-round.
Those in attendance at the ribbon cutting will have the chance to meet the community partners, tour the trailer, and help recognize those who made the project possible.
