The Manitowoc American Legion 19u baseball team continued its phenomenal season last night with a home contest against Ashwaubenon.
Post 88 took an early lead and never let go, cruising to a 6-0 victory.
Hayden Dewane of Roncalli High School got the scoring started with a two-run double in the 2nd inning, and Joe Shimek of Brillion added two more to lead the Manitowoc County squad to its 12th win of the season.
Shimek was also a force on the mound, striking out 13 batters and allowing only 5 hits on the night for a complete game shutout.
Post 88 will be back in action this weekend as they travel across the state for a tournament in Eau Claire.
Meanwhile, the 17u squad fell to Sheboygan 6-0. The younger Post 88 team is now 12-6 on the season and will be in Fond du Lac tonight.
