Charges are being filed in Barron County against a man accused of trying to hire a killer.
Prosecutors say Rice Lake resident Tyler Crotteau was locked up in the county jail when he tried to hire a fellow inmate to kill the mother of his child.
The man he reportedly tried to hire informed jail officials and Crotteau subsequently confessed.
He was charged yesterday with solicitation to commit first degree murder.
