More details have been released regarding a Manitowoc County child grooming case.
The Two Rivers Police Department has stated that an extensive Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation resulted in the arrest of 33-year-old Nathan Brase of Medford.
This investigation began when the department received information that Brase was in communication with a child from Two Rivers.
TRPD continues to say, “Detectives uncovered evidence indicating Brase had been grooming the child for sexual activity, sexually extorting the victim, making threats, and soliciting intimate images from the minor.”
After this revelation, a warrant for the 33-year-old’s arrest was issued, and he was taken into custody at his home with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, Medford Police Department, and the Wood and Marathon County Sheriff’s Offices.
At this time, investigators believe there may be additional victims of Brase’s actions, and anyone with details on the matter is encouraged to contact Detective Megan Klumpyan or Detective Lieutenant Jake Glaser with the Two Rivers Police Department by calling 920-793-1191.
To close, the department warned, “The internet has created incredible opportunities for children to learn, communicate, and connect with others. Unfortunately, it has also provided offenders with new avenues to target and exploit young people.”
