Joseph C. Frances Lorrigan, age 95 of Reedsville, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at his home with loved ones by his side.
Joe was born on June 7, 1931, in Manitowoc, son of the late Bryan and Marie Lorrigan. He attended Maple Grove Catholic School through 8th grade. He then attended St. Nazianz Seminary for 9th grade, he always said “he met this one girl and knew seminary school wasn’t for him.” Joe finished the rest of his high school years at Valders High graduating in 1949.
Joe married Pat in Kellnersville. He worked as an operating engineer and was a long-time member of Local Union #139. Joe proudly served his country for 24 years, enlisting on July 9, 1966 and retiring on May 18, 1990 as a Navy Seabee. “We Build, We Fight.” Joe was also a member of Gosz-Novak American Legion Post 199 in Reedsville. Joe and his late wife Pat owned and operated the K-City Diner for over 30 years until 2012. Joe was the coffee man. He loved playing with his large machinery and making ponds. He was still helping split wood at age 90, operating the cat.
In the last 8 years he loved growing and eating tomatoes, supervising the garden with Marcia, and drinking a beer with his sons Joey and Tim. Joe and Marcia were inseparable, where one was the other was.
Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Joe is survived by five children: Susan (Mike) Schutz, Manitowoc, Brian (LeeAnn) Lorrigan, Mountain, Tim (Nancy) Lorrigan, Reedsville, Wendy (Matt) Kratky, Kaukauna, Joey (Marcia Grant) Lorrigan, Reedsville; one stepson: Mike (Tammy) Stevens, ND; one daughter-in-law: Carol Lorrigan, Manitowoc; fifteen grandchildren: Jenny McGovern, Kelly Badura, Johnny Lorrigan, Fawn Storzer, Jim Lorrigan, Dr. Brandon Stradel, Justin Stradel, Emily Bubolz, Katie Lorrigan, Sarah Tilot, Nicole Lorrigan, Celine Grant, Cierra Grant, Carl Grant, Hannah Loomans; six step-grandchildren: Julie Staude, Donnie Stevens, Bradley Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Hope Goesner, Stephanie Johanning; great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law: Gene Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife: Pat; parents: Bryan and Marie Lorrigan; one son: Mike Lorrigan; two stepsons: Donald Stevens and Roger Stevens; three brothers: John Lorrigan, James Lorrigan, and Bernard Lorrigan; three sisters: Mary Mathes-Kelly, Virginia Johnston, and Ann Christensen.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 522 Tower Ave., Kellnersville. Rev. Brian Belongia will celebrate the Mass of Chrisitan Burial. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will conclude the service.
