A pair of division leaders in the Midwest United Football League meet in Racine tonight as the Racine Raiders host the Sheboygan County SaberCats at historic Horlick Field at Racine Horlick High School.
The Raiders are 4-0 and stand atop the South Division, while the SaberCats top the Central Division at 6-1.
Quarterback Justin Billiot is having an outstanding season, having completed 61 of 104 passes for 1,032 yards with 21 touchdowns and only four interceptions.
Billiot has a bevy of receivers to throw to, including Kaden Summerville, who has a team-leading 381 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns.
Other targets include Jalon Jackson with 251 receiving yards and a club-leading 7 touchdowns, while Steve Strong and Tarrell Jackson each average better than 12 yards per catch.
The Saber Cat defense isn’t shabby either, as they’ve allowed just nine-and-a-half points per contest.
Quinlin Graves has a team-leading 39 tackles, with Matt Crowley, James Hicks, and Rome Jones having 27, 22, and 18 tackles, respectively.
There aren’t many statistics available on Racine, but the one that stands out is that they’ve allowed just 6 points all season long.
The kickoff is set for 6 p.m. tonight.
Meanwhile, the Manitowoc Mariners are off until July 11th, when they travel to Winneconne to battle the Fox River Raiders in a Northern Lights League semifinal playoff game.
The start time has yet to be determined.
