Steven C. Wedel passed away on June 22, 2026, at age 73. Steve was born on October 17, 1952, in Charleston, South Carolina to his parents Charles and Anne (Kodai) Wedel. The family settled in Manitowoc and Steve graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970. He went on to attend the University of California – Davis and received his Bachelors Degree in Zoology. After serving in the U.S. Army for two years, Steve was honorably discharged in 1973. He traveled around the United States as a welder through the Boilermakers Union until 1992, and then worked in the Manitowoc area until retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and race car driving.
Steve is survived by his siblings Anne Angoli and Phillip (Christine) Wedel; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Anne Wedel, brother Charles Wedel, and sister Barbara Hansen.
Cremation has occurred at Harrigan Parkside Crematory Chapel. Relatives and friends may greet the family at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Per Steve’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service held.
