The Wisconsin DNR is updating the state park system’s strategic plan.
The Wisconsin State Park System recently celebrated its 125th anniversary, highlighting all 125 state properties and offering a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities.
The DNR says the updated plan will summarize the system’s existing conditions, identify issues and opportunities, and develop a management strategy and direction for the next 10 years.
Public input is encouraged via an online survey. Comments will be taken until Tuesday, August 4th.
In their 2015-2020 strategic plan, the DNR recognized the need to address changing camper demographics, law enforcement recruitment and retention, staffing shortages, and technology-based improvements.
