The Team Wisconsin volleyball team continued to dominate at the Special Olympics USA Games yesterday.
The Badger State contingency, which includes Manitowoc’s own Lucas Smith, has been perfect through their three games, taking down Team Pennsylvania 2-0 in the medal round, their third straight set win in a row.
Stats have not been made available for the matchup, but we do know that Smith had been on the court and contributed heavily for his team in the previous two matchups.
Smith and his teammates will be facing off against Team Virginia in their final match of the games today.
All of their matches have been played at the iconic Mariucci Arena, named after longtime Gopher hockey coach John Mariucci, who is considered the “godfather of Minnesota hockey.”
Meanwhile, the bowling results have been posted for Manitowoc’s Preston Bjarnarson.
His 459 in the finals was good enough for a 4th-place finish out of 8 bowlers in his bracket.
He will be participating in the team finals today, alongside individual bronze medalists Dalton Schulz and Travis Doire, and individual silver medalist Nathan Styger.
