Milwaukee leaders are looking at an idea to replace a major utility provider.
It was discussed during a review hearing yesterday that the proposal using state statute to replace We Energies with a locally-run utility.
A few aldermen express their support for the idea, noting the rising costs of utility prices for residents.
However, no vote was taken, and the next hearing hasn’t been scheduled.
A spokesperson for We Energies told FOX6 the plan is “radical” and would cost the city a hefty price to change providers.
