
A local athlete is continuing to make his presence felt at the Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota.
Manitowoc’s Lucas Smith and the Team Wisconsin volleyball squad bested Team Texas yesterday 2-0, thanks to some stellar serving.
In total, Team Wisconsin had 29 service aces, with three of those coming from Smith.
With the win, Team Wisconsin enters the Medal Round a perfect 2-0 and will take on Team Pennsylvania at 1:15 this afternoon at Mariucci Arena.
Manitowoc’s Preston Bjarnarson also competed yesterday in the bowling competition, but those results have not been posted as of this morning.
In total, team Wisconsin has secured one gold medal, five silver, and six bronze to go along with six 4th place finishes, one 5th place, two 6th, and one 7th place finish.
