The Milwaukee Police Department is now required to report excessive force used by other law enforcement and federal agents.
The common council voted yesterday to approve the policy, another part of the council’s “ICE Out” package.
The new language clarifies that reporting unreasonable use of force by “another officer” can also include federal agents.
Council member JoCosta Zammaripa mentioned her colleagues are tackling immigration to try to keep ICE out of Brew City.
Everybody on the council approved the ordinance, except one alder who was absent.
