Streetlights in Manitowoc are becoming brighter.
Manitowoc Public Utilities announced in its 2025 annual report that over 4,800 fixtures were upgraded to LEDs to extend lifespans, reduce maintenance, improve light quality, and lower energy consumption.
The conversation to fix the lights started in 2020 and was intentionally spread out over five years.
MPU says the project required a significant time investment from line workers, and they are grateful to have completed it.
The full 2025 annual report can be found online on the newly redesigned mpu.org.
