
Four champions were crowned at the WIAA State Girls Soccer Tournament over the weekend in Milwaukee.
The Division 4 matchup at Uihlein Soccer Park saw The Prairie School knock off Xavier 5-0 thanks to a pair of goals from Meghan Gavigan and Constanza Belaunzaran.
Keira Kimbrough also found the back of the net, while Finley Remington recorded two saves in the shutout.
In Division 3, Kiel fell just short in their search for a gold ball, as they lost to McFarland 2-0.
The typically overpowering Raider offensive attack was limited to 5 shots, while the usually stifling defense gave up 15, seven of which were on goal.
Mya Langenfeld made 5 saves in the losing effort.
The Division 2 title went to Brookfield Center, who took down Wauwatosa East 5-0.
Four players tickled the twin for the Lancers, with Alexandra Rossi scoring twice, while Annie Robinson and Meredith Huettl combined for two saves to earn the shutout.
The only game that didn’t end with a shutout was the Division 1 title bout, which saw Divine Savior Holy Angels beat Muskego 3-1.
All of the scoring came in the second half, with DSHA receiving contributions from three different strikers.
