Two people have been arrested for operating a drug house in Manitowoc.
33-year-old Jolene Wagner and 48-year-old Justin White appeared for their bail hearings on Thursday, where Wagner faced charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia, and White was charged with being a Keeper of a Drug House, Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia, and Felony Bail Jumping.
The duo was living in an apartment in the 900 block of South 20th Street in Manitowoc, where they allegedly allowed others to come in and participate in drug use.
The defense argued against a cash bail due to the amount of meth seized being “user quantities, not any sort of quantities that would be distributed,” and highlighted the fact that White is a small business owner, who could face “devastating consequences” if he couldn’t get out of jail.
White was given a $200 cash bail by Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch, which he has since furnished, while Wagner was given a $1,000 signature bond.
Both were ordered to maintain absolute sobriety, not to possess any controlled substances, and to have no contact with each other.
White is due back in court on June 22nd for his initial appearance in Branch 3, while Wagner’s initial appearance was scheduled for July 6th in Branch 4.
