One person has died after a dump truck full of sand rolled over and collided with another vehicle.
The Appleton Police Department reports that a heavy-duty tow truck was exiting northbound WI 441 onto East Calumet Street when it left the roadway and entered the median.
This caused the dump truck, which the truck was towing at the time, to become detached, roll over, and collide with a vehicle that was stopped in the westbound lane of traffic on Calumet.
First responders attempted to help the driver of the other vehicle, but the driver died at the scene.
The Wisconsin State Patrol was called in to assist in the investigation, while the Appleton Fire Department, Outagamie County Sheriff, and Gold Cross Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
