
The 19u Manitowoc American Legion Baseball team wrapped up its early-season homestand with yet another dominant defensive performance.
Post 88 hosted Ahnapee at Bruce Steinbecker Field, where they earned a 17-1 win.
Kiel’s Aaron Stephany and Manitowoc Lincoln grad Cade Grapentine teamed up on the mound, allowing 1 hit and 1 walk between them while striking out 6 batters.
Grapentine helped his own cause at the plate, driving in 3 runs, while Jake Hilmer also recorded 3 RBI, and Stephany added a pair.
Post 88 is 3-0 to start the season, and will be traveling to Baraboo for a tournament this weekend.
Post 88’s 17u squad also picked up a win over Ahnapee, but in much less decisive fashion.
Post 88 took advantage of 7 errors to earn a 12-9 win, and improve to 6-1 to start the season.
