A Manitowoc man is facing charges after allegedly abusing a child.
51-year-old Joseph Baxter Jr was given a $5,000 cash bail yesterday (June 16th) by Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch.
This comes as Baxter Jr. has been charged with one felony count of Physical Abuse of a Child.
Few details regarding the case have been made available, however, it was revealed that the alleged victim is Baxter Jr.’s 9-year-old child and that part of the incident was caught on video.
When describing the content in that video, Commissioner Scharenbroch noted that it was a “concerning situation,” and displayed behavior that was “violent and dangerous to this 9-year-old child.”
An additional term of Baxter Jr.’s bail includes no contact with the child victim unless approved by the Human Services Department.
He will now return to court on June 22nd at 1:30 p.m. to make his initial appearance in Branch 3.
