A bipartisan bill written by Wisconsin’s Sixth District congressman has passed the U.S. House of Representatives.
Congressman Glenn Grothman’s Federal Fraud Prevention Workforce Training Act would require the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the U.S. Department of the Treasury to establish and maintain a mandatory anti-fraud and improper prevention training program for federal employees whose roles involve federal financial assistance or oversight of federal programs.
Rep. Grothman says Americans work hard for their money and deserve a “government that treats every tax dollar with respect. Unfortunately, fraud in federal programs remains a persistent problem, costing taxpayers billions of dollars each year.”
The Glenbeulah Republican concludes that preventing fraud is not partisan, as taxpayers expect elected officials to ensure the government operates efficiently and responsibly.
The Federal Fraud Prevention Workforce Training Act has been sent to the U.S. Senate and read twice in the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs.
