Two food businesses in Sheboygan have received state funding.
Governor Tony Evers and the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) have announced that $700,000 worth of Meat Processor Infrastructure Grants have been awarded to 18 companies.
Two of those companies call Sheboygan home: the Sheboygan Pasty Co. and Faye’s Frozen Foods LLC.
Faye’s, one of Sheboygan’s favorite pizza places, will use this grant funding to expand its production, packaging, and freezing line for its frozen pizzas.
The Sheboygan Pasty Co. will be making packaging line upgrades with its grant funding.
While the exact amount of each of the 18 grants was not provided, each recipient will be required to make a 100% match on all funds received.
On this crucial funding for meat processors across the state, Gov. Evers stated, “Here in Wisconsin, we’ve worked hard to ensure our farmers, producers, and processors have the resources and support they need to grow and expand their businesses…That includes our meat processors, and I’m proud that we were able to continue to make smart investments in their success in our most recent state budget.”
