A former Milwaukee police officer is pleading guilty to attempted misconduct in public office.
Josue Ayala agreed with prosecutors to resign from his post in order to be charged with a misdemeanor instead of a felony.
The guilty plea also means prosecutors will recommend a fine instead of a harsher sentence.
He was accused of using a Flock camera system while on-duty to check a former dating partner’s license plate more than 100 times, while also checking that person’s former partner dozens of times.
