There’s a new flagpole installed in the Town of Meeme.
American Legion Post 477 Officer Nancy Schnell Rivera says the Meeme Liberty Pole was installed last week, and in-ground lighting was completed recently.
She calls it a magnificent 12-by-18 American flag that is proudly flying atop the historic pole through 2026.
The flag is also special because it recognizes America’s 250th Birthday.
In the future, a smaller American flag will be displayed on the pole during special holidays.
Schnell Rivera says the pole was installed three weeks before their Celebration of Freedom on July 4th through the “unwavering support of our community and the hard work of dedicated Post and SAL members.”
American Legion Post 477 of St. Nazianz encourages everyone to take the drive to the site to see the new flag and Meeme Liberty Pole for themselves.
It’s located at the Corner of County Road M and XX.
They also ask everyone to join them for their July 4th Celebration of Freedom beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the pole site, followed by a gathering at Shadows Bar.
