
It will be a battle of suffocating defenses in Kiel tonight as the Raiders girls’ soccer team tries to advance to their fifth straight sectional title appearance.
Kiel will face off against Luxemburg-Casco in the Division 3 Sectional Semifinals tonight.
The Raiders have been utterly dominant all season long, but specifically in their two postseason games.
They knocked off Roncalli-Two Rivers 9-0, and easily dispatched Waupun 8-0, thanks to an offensive attack led by seniors Taavi Saeger and Deanna Schwaller.
Defensively, Kiel has only given up 7 goals all season, and is currently riding an 8-game shutout streak.
As for the Spartans, they had turned up the heat defensively late in the season and are on a 6-game shutout streak.
They knocked off North Fond du Lac/Oakfield 9-0 in their tournament opener and earned a 2-0 win over Freedom in the Regional Championship.
Something will have to give tonight, as the Raiders and Spartans face off on Fifrick Field at 7:00 p.m.
