While the damage from yesterday’s storm was minimal along the lakeshore, there was significant damage to a home in Sheboygan, which was struck by lightning.
The Sheboygan Fire Department was dispatched to the 1300 block of South 9th Street at around 4:00 p.m. after learning of the lightning strike, which caused a home to catch fire.
Crews arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the turret roof of the building.
Thanks to their quick response, the flames were extinguished before they could spread to any other part of the home.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The Oshkosh area suffered the brunt of the damage from yesterday’s storm, with some trees splitting in half, powerlines snapping, and buildings being damaged after the area experienced winds of up to 94 MPH.
