The WIAA State Softball Tournament begins today in Madison.
The Division 1 quarterfinals will kick off the 50th state softball tournament on Goodman Diamond with #2 Muskego taking on #7 Marshfield at 11:00 this morning.
That will be followed by a matchup between #3 Stevens Point and #6 Appleton North before the top-seeded Hamilton Chargers take on the #8 seed, West Allis Hale/West Allis Central. The final day 1 matchup will pit #4 Sun Prairie East against #5 Union Grove.
The Division 4 and 5 Semifinals will be held tomorrow, while the Division 2 semifinals are slated for Friday.
The only area team to make it to the big dance is New Holstein, which will face Lodi at around 2:00 Friday afternoon as a part of the Division 3 semifinals.
The winner will face either #1 Lomira or #4 Spooner for a state title.
