A man from Plymouth is facing federal and state charges in a child sexual assault case.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin has announced that, last week, 45-year-old Christopher L. Rentmeester was federally indicted on two counts of Production of Child Pornography.
It is alleged that the production of child sexual assault material occurred between 2022 and 2024.
Court records also show that Rentmeester is facing two additional counts of First-Degree Child Sexual Assault – Intercourse with a Person Under 12 in Sheboygan County.
The first of these charges stems from an incident that allegedly occurred in February of 2022, with the second following in January of 2024, meaning that the 45-year-old is accused of raping a child who was no older than 9-years-old.
Last month, Rentmeester was released from custody on a $500,000 signature bond and was in court yesterday (June 8th) for a status conference.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin states that this case was investigated by the Plymouth Police Department and the FBI, and the federal case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Abbey M. Marzick.
