The Mishicot Indians have another state champion to celebrate.
Sophomore Juliana Doerner won the Division Three 200-meter dash Saturday at the WIAA State Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, setting a new state and school record with a time of 24.04 seconds, breaking the previous state record of 24.45 set last year by Bella Thomas of Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids.
Doerner tells SeehaferNews.com that her formula for success is a simple one.
“I’ve been working out a lot which has made me stronger and improved my endurance. I’m also a very determined person,” she explained. “I feel if I really put my mind to it there’s nothing that can stop me from accomplishing my goals.”
Mishicot Head Coach Kyle Novack says Juliana is blessed with a lot of God-given talent.
“She puts in the work, and combined with a lot of natural ability, plus being blessed with great athletic genetics, it makes her the champion that she is,” he said. “She sets the example for all others to follow if they want to become to be the very best they can be.”
Doerner also placed 4th in the 100-meter dash and teamed up with Kambrya Chrisoffel, Tatum Fix, and Kenzie Rosenow to take 4th in the 4×200-meter relay.
