After nearly 80 years of being a cash-only business, an iconic Manitowoc restaurant is getting some new technology.
Late’s BBQ announced that starting today, they will be accepting credit cards.
They ask customers to “bear with us as it is a learning curve for us.”
As the employees get used to the new system, they will stop taking cards at 6:00 p.m., and they will not accept card payments for Friday deliveries.
These are temporary limitations.
Late’s first opened at 1924 South 9TH Street in 1949 by Leighton Mirkes, and is Manitowoc’s longest continuous operating restaurant.
