The man charged in the death of Elijah Vue has a trial date.
Manitowoc County Judge Anthony Lambrecht set the trial for 40-year-old Jesse Vang for April 14th through the 30th of next year.
There was also a pre-trial conference set for March 19th.
The attorney for 32-year-old Katrina Baur was also in court today, but Baur herself was not present.
Attorneys for Vang and Baur will return to court at the end of the month to talk about witnesses and testimony in the case.
The testimony would be from sand and gravel experts. Both are charged in the death of the toddler who was first reported missing in February 2024.
His remains were later found in September 2024 in the Town of Two Rivers on private property.
A criminal complaint alleges that Baur was dropping Elijah off in Two Rivers at Vang’s apartment so they could “correct his bad behavior.”
Vang faces charges including physical assault of a child, causing death, hiding a corpse, chronic neglect of a child, and resisting or obstructing an officer.
Baur is charged with chronic child neglect, consequence is death, child neglect, and two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer.
