A heavily trafficked public space in Downtown Sheboygan is set for a bit of an upgrade.
At this week’s Common Council meeting, a resolution to make improvements to the concrete areas within City Green to increase ADA accessibility was unanimously approved.
Multiple bids for the concrete were made, but the contract was awarded to Klunck Masonry, LLC, which will complete the project at a cost of $7,657 to the City.
When the matter was discussed previously by the Public Works Committee, Public Works Director Travis Peterson explained, “An existing concrete pad and approach located in the southwest corner of the property has deteriorated, settled unevenly, and does not allow for ADA accessibility.”
These planned upgrades will improve the concrete pad and increase ADA accessibility, leading up to the portable restroom facilities routinely placed at City Green.
The modifications come ahead of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center’s Levitt AMP Sheboygan Music Series, which is set to begin at City Green later this month.
However, when work will begin and be completed was not shared by the City.
