A woman found dead in the Milwaukee River more than 40 years ago has finally been identified.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office says the body discovered in 1982 was identified as Berline Trammel, although it’s still unclear how she died.
A firefighter checking on his boat off Plankinton Avenue discovered the body, and it’s believed Trammel could’ve been in the water for up to three months.
Officials say they used an advanced forensic tool to help identify Trammel.
