A Green Bay man is facing federal charges in a child exploitation case.
First Assistant United States Attorney Brad Schimel has announced that 22-year-old William G. Waterstradt has been charged with Production of Child Pornography and two counts of Child Enticement after he used a secondary Snapchat account to exploit numerous underage girls, some as young as 12 years old.
Detectives got involved when a 12-year-old girl saw sexually explicit photos on a friend’s phone and reported them to school authorities.
Through the investigation, it was learned that Waterstradt was posing as a 16 or 17-year-old boy during these conversations, three of which led to in-person meet-ups.
During those meet-ups, the victims told investigators that they had engaged in sexual intercourse with Waterstradt, some of which were recorded on his phone and shared with unknown individuals online.
If convicted on all charges, Waterstradt, a former track and field athlete at Marquette University, is facing a minimum of 35 years in prison and a maximum of life.
Waterstradt also has open cases in Langlade and Sheboygan Counties, where he faces four counts each of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, Using a Computer to Facilitate a Child Sex Crime, and Exposing Genitals to a Child, two counts of Child Enticement-Sexual Contact, and one count each of Child Sexual Exploitation and Possession of Child Pornography.
