The Kiel Police Department is giving reminders after getting several reports of items stolen from cars.
Officers ask residents to remove valuables and always lock their vehicles, as thieves will look for unlocked vehicles.
The department says Kiel is a safe and beautiful community, but that doesn’t mean they are immune to crime.
Some criminals target smaller rural communities because some residents living there might think “nothing bad happens here.”
Kiel residents who want to report suspicious behavior or circumstances can call the police department at 920-894-2211.
Residents can also remain anonymous by calling Manitowoc County Crime Stoppers at 920-683-4466 or using the Crime Stoppers P3 Tips app.
