A Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputy has been honored by the Green Bay Packers.
Deputy Matt Hassemer was one of fourteen members of Wisconsin’s law enforcement team to receive the Packers Protect & Serve Award, which comes with a $2,000 grant.
As a part of the honor, Deputy Hassemer and the rest of the honorees were treated to a luncheon and awards presentation at Lambeau Field, which included speeches from Green Bay Police Chief Chris Davis and Packer Long Snapper Matt Orzech.
The awards themselves were handcrafted American flags, made by Oneida Police Sergeant Nathan Ness.
The Packers Protect & Serve Award is a part of the Green Bay Packers Give Back program, which invested $13 million back into the community last year.
