Chad L Suttner
The man charged in an attack that left another man in a coma appeared for his initial appearance yesterday.
55-year-old Chad Suttner was before Judge Jerylin Dietz Monday afternoon, where he was still without legal counsel.
Suttner qualifies for public defender representation, but an attorney has not yet been found to represent him.
Suttner is being held in the Manitowoc County Jail on a $50,000 cash bail after an incident at the Badger’s Den in Kiel.
Joshua Buchholz, a co-owner of the bar, told SeehaferNews.com last week that Suttner was screaming at his girlfriend outside of the establishment at around 10:45 on May 22nd, and allegedly headbutted her.
Cody Rautmann saw this and reportedly went out to defend the woman, which is when Buchholz said “he got assaulted” by Suttner.
Rautmann is still in a medically induced coma.
The Badger’s Den has been collecting money for the Rautmann family, and Dawn Buchholz, the other co-owner of the bar, has set up a GoFundMe page.
Suttner is due for his preliminary hearing on Thursday, June 11th at 1:30 p.m. as he faces charges of Aggravated Battery Indenting Great Bodily Harm and Disorderly Conduct.
