Home construction could be seen soon on the former Lakeshore and Mid-Cities Mall sites.
Mayor Justin Nickels explained on his Facebook page that Tycore Built of Green Bay is preparing to begin construction on both single-family and multi-family housing soon.
A stormwater pond is also in place to support development and the surrounding areas.
The plan is to have more than 40 single-family homes and 150 multi-family units, along with three commercial lots along Memorial Drive.
Nickels says the lots are generating strong interest, but what is happening there is not being announced at this time.
The former Yonkers building was knocked down after the city purchased the property in 2024.
Tycore Built has since taken over the property for development.
