The Sheboygan County Food Bank has honored one of its most dedicated volunteers.
The Food Bank has announced that Anjennete Pond has received the Nourishing Hope Award.
This award comes in recognition of her support of the food bank over the past eight years.
Just one example of the support Pond has shown to the Food Bank took place last week, as she coordinated a truckload donation of more than 35,000 pounds, approximately 17.5 tons, of nonperishable food items from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This level of generosity marked the third such time Pond and the church have made such a significant donation to the Food Bank, which says it will keep countless families fed during the summer months.
However, her work does not stop there, with the Food Bank explaining, “Over the years, her impact has reached beyond these generous food donations. From helping coordinate the Hunger Ball of Sheboygan County fundraiser, to serving as a co-lead volunteer for our Food for Thought for Kids program and mentoring local high school students through hands-on volunteer work, Anjennete has continually shown what it means to care deeply for the community.”
