A barn in Calumet County is considered a total loss after a fire.
Village of Harrison Fire Rescue was called last Friday (May 29th) just after 10:10 p.m. for a report of a barn on fire on Horn Road.
They quickly asked for additional departments to show up after arriving on scene, upgrading a MABAS alarm from a 2nd-box with tenders to a 3rd-box alarm.
A large-diameter hose was laid from the main road to the barn over 1,000 feet away as operations were being set up.
Fill sites in Sherwood and a nearby pond were used to get 100,000 gallons of water, which was used to put out the fire.
Harrison Fire Rescue thanked several emergency departments, including the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, Gold Cross Ambulance, along with Buchanan, Chilton, Forest Junction, Hilbert, Potter, Stockbridge, Town of Calumet, New Holstein, Kiel, and numerous other fire departments, for their support.
