
Non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for April in Manitowoc County are up slightly from last year.
The county was at 3% this year, up from 2.8% in April 2025. But 3% is down from March, when the county’s unemployment rate was 3.8%. Sheboygan County also saw a slight increase in its rate.
Unemployment was at 2.8% in April 2025 compared to 2.9% in April 2026.
Calumet, Kewaunee, Brown, and Door Counties also saw slight upticks in unemployment from this year to last.
However, unemployment is down compared to the March figures this year.
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development also reported that unemployment decreased in 34 of Wisconsin’s 35 largest cities, but it doesn’t include Manitowoc.
Unemployment was at 3.3% in April this year compared to 3.1% in April 2025.
