A Sheboygan County program, considered the nation’s first dementia village, is set to welcome a world-renowned specialist.
Dementia Innovations – LIVASU in the Town of Wilson is set to host internationally recognized dementia care leader Eloy van Hal on July 11th.
Van Hal is the co-founder of what is considered the world’s first-ever dementia village in the Netherlands, a community “designed to offer a supportive and vibrant environment for individuals living with dementia.”
Van Hal will speak to those in attendance from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Town of Wilson Hall before visitors have the chance to tour a LIVASU model home and learn more about the village’s philosophy.
Mary Pitsch, Co-Founder of Dementia Innovations – LIVASU, stated, “We are honored to welcome Eloy van Hal to Sheboygan County and share this vision with families, healthcare professionals, and community members who want to better understand what dementia care and support can look like.”
LIVASU is a true neighborhood offering residents, aside from their own privately owned homes, a gym, spa, on-site golf cart transportation, on-site care and support staff, and much more.
RSVPs are not required to attend the event, but are appreciated.
Those looking to attend can register by calling 920-395-9533, while more information on the LIVASU community can be found online at dementiainnovations.org.
