Progress is being made at a former factory site in Two Rivers.
The city said on Tuesday that environmental soil sampling took place for the first time at the former Hamilton property.
City officials explain that while much work remains ahead, it’s another meaningful step forward to understand the site’s environmental conditions and prepare for long-term development.
Collected soil samples are being analyzed by the Wisconsin DNR, with results expected by the end of June.
The findings will help guide future environmental planning and redevelopment discussions.
Two Rivers is starting the final phase of bringing everything they worked on with the community together before giving a final report sometime in June.
The city has hosted community visioning sessions and resident workshops to help shape the future of the Hamilton property.
